We offer classes year-round with separate sessions: Fall/Spring school year session, and our 8-week Summer Session. We also offer limited dance camps during the summer - the best way to get be introduced to the #FSADfam or to just get moving & grooving without the full 8-week commitment.

FOR DANCERS JUST GETTING STARTED
For the dancers starting out or those with a little experience, FSAD offers classes in the following styles. Students will learn routines to perform one of the nights of our annual recital!
Learn about music, rhythm, beats and self expression while also learning about working with others, taking turns, and following directions with basic classical ballet terminology. Children are encouraged to move their bodies and to use their gross motor skills.
This fun class is designed to introduce students to ballet and tap dance. Learning some basic ballet and tap skills will allow the students to experience each style of dance while improving their flexibility, sense of rhythm and overall coordination. Student's are broken out by age/grade level.
This class is designed to introduce Jazz and add on to the current Ballet/Tap Combo class. This class will continue to allow the student to express themselves with a new style of dance, improve their flexibility, develop a more complex sense of rhythm and overall coordination.
This class is designed for dancers who are looking to get into hip-hop without joining our required technique classes. Dancers will work on strength, rhythm, coordination with familiar moves that they see other commercial dancers performing. This may be the perfect for your dancer!
FOR THE MORE SERIOUS DANCER
Our Company level classes offer more extensive training and additional performance opportunities in the community. Levels are broken down into Junior Level (6th grade +) Apprentice Level (7th grade +) and Senior Level (9th grade+). Students are placed based on their ability first, age/grade second. All classes are by placement only.
Students enrolled at the Junior, Apprentice and Senior Levels will perform on both nights of our annual recital!
Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute ballet moves. Musicality and performance quality will be discussed in depth during classes. Each class will emphasize barre exercises and may also include a combination of center floor work and across-the-floor combinations.
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.
Jazz will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based in ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

WHAT OUR PARENTS SAY
Cannot say enough positive things about FSAD. It's a premier dance academy which combines classic and professional dance instruction while providing an encouraging and supporting community of dance. I danced at FSAD and am so excited my children will now have the same opportunity as well!
